A Poem: Miss China Doll

Good God just look at you
Gentle and kind
Voice as soft as wind
Laughter so contagious
Like your smile
Hair as dark as the midnight sky
Eyes so fair and easy
Wonder where you came from
Must have changed your name
When you came here
Wonderin’ if you’re treated well
overheard a nasty conversation
a click and then a silence

Hope that I am wrong
You must be so lonely
Glad that you called
Calling, a lost gesture
But it brought me joy
To hear that sweet voice
You are genuine
One of a kind
Miss China Doll
If there comes a day
when your free will expires
I’d fight for you, my friend
Right down to the wire
